Announcement Regarding Utilities Payments & Disconnections
The Town Council has voted to start utility cut-offs effective August 2020. If a customer has a past due balance Council has voted to give the customer 120 days to pay the past due amount and in four (4) installments beginning August 15, 2020. All billings for August are due on their normal, set dates. Utility agreements will be established for utility billings due between March 2020 and July 2020 that have not been paid. Assistance maybe available through Sussex County Department of Social Services. Their contact information is (434) 246-1083.
Guidelines for utility billing and past due accounts:
-Signed utility agreement must be on file in the town office.
-Current balance must be paid on time and in full (due 15th of each month).
-Installment must be paid on time and in the agreed amount (due 15th of each month).
-If your account is not paid by the 25th of each month you will be disconnected.
